Football is Back

Its football season again! This is my favorite time of the year! What’s not to love about cooler weather, great food and hanging with friends? In Texas that just means being able to be outside and not melting! I just laugh when other wives complain about football season because during the Fall I live for the weekends, especially college football. The majority of our vacations center around football games and for the most part, I’m OK with that!

I am definitely torn about the Aggies decision to leave the Big 12. I love our A&M/Tech weekends and how do you not think A&M without thinking about the big game against TU on Thanksgiving? I don’t think it’s a good idea at all, but on the plus side, that will give us a chance to host the LSU/A&M game every other year with our Louisiana peeps! So while it truly scares me to compete in the SEC, it provides us with the opportunity to go to A&M more often and another reason to go back to Baton Rouge! Brian told me that I needed to choose a side and choose the side with our family. I’ve been an Aggie my whole life and I’m not about to change my mind now just because they are going to possibly play LSU every year. Who doesn’t love a little competition amongst family? I guess its time to get a house divided flag. I’d be proud of Alexis no matter which school she chooses. Deep down, I know her Daddy will too. They are both great schools and I just can’t wait to share the A&M tradition with Alexis as she grows up. She will learn to love both teams and in the end and she will be the one making the decision, not us!

This weekend we went back to Jerry World for the LSU/Oregon game. It was the first time we haven’t tailgated and we weren’t really sure of our plan. And for Mommy, no plan makes me nervous. I hate going into a day without a plan laid out, it makes me feel out of control. But it all worked out for the best. We stayed with the Hagartys and they watched Alexis while we went to the game. On Saturday we loaded up all the kids and met the Mozingos for lunch. This was Mike and Mary’s first time to meet A and she loved them both. She went to them like she’d known them forever. Their twins were born 3 days before she was so we can’t wait for them to get a chance to play together, even though they outweigh her by a good ten pounds! After lunch we went back to their hotel for some drinks and caught a ride with Mary’s family on a bus to the stadium. Somehow we ended up at a bar with free drinks and Brian worked the grill to cook his bacon wrapped duck. I mean, seriously? How does my husband always talk his way into these situations? It was a great game and we are already looking forward to next weekend. A special thanks goes out to the Hagartys for watching our Boo while we went to the game. As usual she was a rock star!

Jerry World, here we come! Surprisingly, it wasn't that hot. There was a great wind that kept us pretty cool!

Catching a ride! Good thing it was free because we only drove about a hundred yards!

Thanks for letting us take over your bar

Summer has Come and Gone

I guess you can tell I’m back to work! I spent the last couple of weeks playing with my Boo and reading every other spare moment I had. So, I’m way behind on the updates. And, I’m just going to say it, I’m a bad Aunt! Our sweet Baby Girl Brinkley has been here for over a month and I’m just now blogging about her. She was born on July 21st at 8:03 a.m. And Aunt Deidra was there by 11 to be the first to meet her. I was so excited to meet this baby girl that I had my hair and makeup done for two days just anxiously waiting for her to join us! And to say she is beautiful is an understatement. I love this baby girl so much! Congratulations Aunt Kristi and Uncle Michael. We are super excited for all the years to come!

This was the best summer ever! I miss our morning walks! We were up and at’em almost every morning. Just quality mommy and baby girl time and I can’t believe it’s all over. We had play dates and lake time galore this year and I couldn’t have asked for a better time with Alexis. I feel like she learned so much too. This child is all her own! She’s bossy, stubborn and extremely demanding. Did I mention she talks back and she can’t even talk? I never quite understood how people could say that their one year old was bossy and stubborn. I’m here to admit I was wrong! I tell her no and SHE points her finger at ME! She slaps only ME in the face and she smiles! I can’t swat her hand because she thinks it’s funny. I’m not going to be able to give this girl an inch. But on a positive note, her favorite past time is reading books! While that makes my heart melt, even with her new books that we just recently bought, she still wants to hear the same two stories. But, its snuggle time with her and I can’t resist. It’s the only snuggle time I can get because she is always on the go and she does NOT want to be held. She wants to walk all on her own.

I can't believe William is SIX! This birthday was a hit. I hope you had a great day! We love you! As you can see, Ryder still cries when he gets around Alexis. He better watch out because if he keeps this up, he's going to miss out. There are some boys in line ready and waiting.

A loves to play the piano. Too bad it isn't staying around. Uncle Larry should be taking it back any day now so we can turn this room into a play room!
Aunt Lissa and Alexis

This girl loves her car...And her purses! You can't see it in the picture, but she is carrying my purse. She loves to hold them and she holds it on her arm, just like Mommy! She's so smart!

Pony Rides!

We tried ravioli and spaghetti mac again. I don't know what it is about the red sauce, but she just doesn't dig it. She loves the ravioli that isn't dressed in red sauce, so I guess we will just keep trying. She looks cute eating it, though. She has learned to use a fork and if you have one and she doesn't she gets really upset. In the top right picture she is trying to see my face behind the camera. I guess she thinks I'm playing peek-a-boo.

We had lunch with Aunt Kathy and Mrs. Mariely a while back. She wasn't up for smiling, but Aunt Kathy was glad to see her.
