March Madness

Literally! I can't believe we've been on the go for almost two months straight! Here are the highlights. Read if you wish!

All About A

So, as you can tell, we've been going going going! We have not been home for a single weekend since the beginning of February and I'm pretty sure that we are going to be gone the next THREE weekends as well. Hopefully we will get some time at home soon because our poor neglected house needs LOTS of attention. In the meantime, Alexis has been growing by leaps and bounds!

One of our weekends we went to Louisiana to see a friend get married and she was gone for 5 way too long nights. She came back demanding to be taken outside every five minutes and she had learned to say NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, not just no! She was also on a Mimi/Grandma/PawPaw/Papa high and was throwing some major temper tantrums, so she spent quite a bit of time in time out the first few days back. She also was eating worse than before, so as soon as summer hits, she is enrolling into Mommy Boot Camp. And, if she doesn't eat it for dinner, guess what's she getting for breakfast and then for lunch if it's still there!!

I feel like she has regressed in her vocabulary since she has learned to sign. She no longer says thank you, which she said every time she received something, but on the up side she does use signs more; please, thank you (sometimes) and all done. I truly think she is just being stubborn. In the last two weeks she has learned to sing "e-i-e-i-o" so I know she can talk.

One last thing, she POOPED in the potty!! We have been lightly working on it but not pushing it, and she finally sat down forever yesterday morning and she wouldn't get up until she had gone! Who knew you could get so excited over poop and pee, but we did!!

She has learned to wave hi and bye and she can even say "Lamby" but most of the time she won't! On our way to San Antonio, we stopped at some bluebonnets. I haven't edited them yet and I wasn't too impressed with how they turned out, but they were pretty cute and she actually posed for me, which she never does!
She was so excited to go on vacation. She helped me pack all of her toys that she wanted to take to Florida and then she got in the bag herself! I guess she didn't want to walk the distance from my room to her room! So, this just shows how smart she is! She was refusing to eat her spaghetti and we were TRYING to go bite for bite; one bite spaghetti and one bite fruit. She only wanted the fruit! She totally understood what I was saying and would open her mouth until the fork came close enough to her lips where she would then shut it up tight! So, I finally said, if you don't eat, you aren't getting anything until breakfast and so she posed! I guess she thought if she could look cute for the camera (which wasn't even out when we were eating) that I wouldn't make her eat it. She was wrong, she threw a fit and went back to time out and received nothing for dinner but milk!

My Sweet Belle

My sweet Bo Bo died this weekend. It was a complete shock to us. I knew her health was fading, but I guess you can never prepare yourself for this. She was the best, most loving and loyal dog EVER. Shenloved to hang out right in your face, she had no idea about personal space! But she also loved to run and fetch the most. This last year I really restricted how much running she did and it would tear my heart out because it was her favorite past time. But, she got really good at understanding that she needed to stay when we were running Willy and she learned to just sit and watch. I am not going to know what to do with out my shadow and I miss her terribly!

We got a dog walker for the VERY-FIRST-TIME-EVER this weekend so we could go out of town and she died Saturday morning on the dog walker. The lady came over to walk Ranger Belle around 8 a.m. and she noticed that her urine was darker and she was having a hard time breathing. Then Belle came inside, laid down and wouldn't get up. She just stopped breathing with in minutes. Thank God for great friends and familiy! Our family friend, Nathan, quickly came over to take her to the vet after she passed and my parents rushed down to get Ranger. Jaime and Mel were also on stand by to come get Ranger, but they had a busy day and I didn't want Ranger to be alone. I was scared to leave him for the rest of the weekend without her. It is so hard to only be taking care of one dog. I cry everytime I see Ranger alone. It's hard to believe that after 13 years, she is no longer with me, but I do feel a little better knowing that she isn't suffering from whatever was ailing her.

Here are some pictures I've taken the last couple of months. I love you Bo Bo!

No idea of personal space!!

My first baby girl!

She was so patient, most of the time, with Willy!
Again with the face! Helping A open her Christmas presents!!

Hill Country Living

Boy could I get used to living at a resort!! This past weekend our friends, the Ahujas, invited us to stay at the Marriot in the San Antonio Hill Country. Lucky us, their reservation was messed up so the manager gave them four free rooms for the weekend, so along we went, even though we still hadn't unpacked from Florida!! I wish I had gotten more resort pictures so you could see just how beautiful this place was. I am dying to go back already! It is a great get a way just around the corner. They have three kid water slides along with an awesome splash pad/wadding pool area, a lazy river and 2 huge adult water slides! Once again, the slides got my heart pumping!

And the food. That is all that needs to be said really because it was beyond amazing. Over the weekend we went to 3 different restaurants and I wasn't disappointed with a single one. I even tried East Coast oysters and fell in love with oysters. I made Daddy take me out to dinner just to get some more last night to see if it wasn't just the resort!

We didn't get to the pool until almost 2 because there was a heavy fog that we were waiting to burn off. But, once it went away, Alexis was out to play! She loved every minute of the pool. She jumped right on in with out me even in the pool and started swimming out into the water and back to the edge to climb out. She also loved the slides. She even got up the nerves to walk up the stairs by herself and go down alone. Unfortunately, six little kids came and cut right in front of her. But, she just patintly waited her turn. She is so sweet!!

Last Day of Fun in the Sun

We spent as much time as we could outside on our last day. Alexis and I went out early while Daddy went to go see Grandpa before we left Florida. She must have been tired because she decided she was done and started walking up to the condo. So, we went in for lunch and a nap. However, I guess she was a little too excited and she wouldn't go to sleep, so we went back out to the beach and up for a nap a little later. Mommy took this opportunity to nap and soak up the sun one last time. That evening I finally dressed her up and got to practice shooting her on the beach at sunset before we ended the vacation grilling and packing. I hate the end of vacation!! Why can't we just live at the beach??

Great Grandpa

Donna's dad lives in Clearwater so we were all very excited to have Alexis meet her other Great Grandpa for the first time. We planned a photoshoot so we could capture the four generations together. Unfortunatly, the day we planned the shoot, he was hospitalized. He had been complaining of having a hard time breathing, but they just continued on with his medicine. By Wednesday he was hospitalized and having his lung drained of the fluid that was filling his lung. Fortunately by the time we got there for Missy and Jeff to say goodbye before they left he was feeling much better, telling stories and even loving on Alexis! I'm so glad I was able to capture these pictures. We will cherish them forever. He is currently in a rehabilitation center and they are deciding on whether he is strong enough to go home or if he needs constant care in a nursing home. Please pray for his comfort during this time.
