LSU vs West Virginia

This past weekend Brian and I took our last vacation before I go back to work. I'm so sad to be leaving Alexis, I know she will be in good hands, but I'm going to miss waking her up every morning. Being a mother is the greatest thing in the world and I couldn't be happier. On Friday and Saturday night we went to Baton Rouge to tail gate for the LSU game. Then Sunday we went to New Orleans to watch the Saints and Texans games on Bourbon Street. Last time I was in NO I couldn't celebrate, so we had a blast on Bourbon Street and ended the night at NOLA, Emeril's restaurant.

Watching the Saints and the Texans first loss of the year, thankfully LSU pulled out the win.

The boys always have a blast when they are together. I really wish we could see our Louisiana friends more.

If you can't tell, Brian is SUPER PUMPED to be sitting in these seats. This is about the 10th picture of him he made me take. We were super close. Thanks Mike and Mary for letting us sit with ya'll!!

Mary and I. Her twins, Camille and Mason are 3 days older than Alexis. I wish we could have gotten a picture of all three of them. They are so very cute though!

Brian and Mozingo, still pumped!

4 Month Update

Alexis had her four month check up today and she is definitely doing awesome. She is weighing 11 lbs and 10.5 ounces, which puts her in the 25th percentile and she is 24.5 inches long, the 50th percentile! She is climbing those charts so fast! I can't believe I might actually have produce a tall child!! She is fitting pretty good in 3 month clothes, but she is so long that she has also been in a couple 6 month onsies. I can't believe how big she is getting. Here are some pictures from the last week. I could seriously make her smile all day if she let me!

Today we fed her cereal from a spoon for the first time. She at it all up! She is slowly getting better at sitting up on her own. She still can't hold her head up 100 % of the time yet, but she is getting stronger. I started putting cereal in her body 2 weeks ago and she started sleeping a little better. We've been really working on getting her down and staying down. For the last week, she as been doing a great job. Tonight after her bowl of cereal, she went straight down. Seriously, if I had known cereal was baby Ambien, I might have done this a long time ago!

She also has a slight cough. She isn't congested in her chest, I'm afraid she just might have allergies. I git a scratchy throat and runny nose when the weather changes, and I have it now. Hopefully this is just chance and it will go away though.

She loves to smile at me!

I mean, really? She is just so cute! As I've said before, she loves her bath time. She would sit in there for an hour if I let her. So, to keep her warm, I keep the rag on her head warm while she just splashes around. My water bill might be a little high when she gets older.

She is back to loving her swing. For the last couple of weeks she didn't want anything to do with it, but now, she loves to sit in it, listen to the music and occasionally fall asleep in it. I try really hard to not let her sleep in it, but there are some times she gets in a cat nap!

Just another game day outfit. Daddy bought her this "Poo Dat" onsie and he loves to put her in it.

Tech vs Texas 2010

Well, as we all know, Alexis is going to be one confused little girl when it comes to picking which university she wants to go to. Between Mommy growing up an Aggie and Daddy being a Longhorn, I think LSU would be a great neutral choice. But, then you throw Aunt Tracy and Uncle Michael into the mix and they are just determined to get her to to go to Tech. Which is totally fine, if they are willing to pay for it!! Luckily for her, she only has to root for the Saints and the Texans, unless her Paw Paw has anything to say about it! (He's a Cowboy's fan) But we still love him! Fortunately for us, that won't be a fight we have to face because she WON'T EVER be a Cowgirl!

Here are a few pictures from Saturday's game day when Texas beat Tech and LSU beat Mississippi State. Aunt Deanna is coming over today to take some pictures of her in her Saints and Texans gear, so I will post those when I get them.

See what happens when you put her in her Tech gear, courtesy of Aunt Tracy. I'm just saying...

I'm sorry, but this is the best I could do, she just wasn't digging the outfit!

William getting in some football time of his own!!

RYDER!! Check out this chunk! He looks just like his Paw Paw, which is so weird! He even makes faces like him, but he is just adorable and we LOVE him!

Check out that pouty face!

300 Justice Road...The Next Generation

Alexis has definitely had a busy 2 weeks. She spent her first time away from Mommy and Daddy for a LONG weekend. She went to Mimi and Pappa B's house while we went to Austin for Labor Day weekend. Mommy did great until Sunday when I still had one day left. Mom called to tell me she was smiling, which I've been dying to see, and then I started crying. So, I took every opportunity over the last week to snap a picture of her smiling. We had a great time in Austin celebrating Jay's sister's wedding, but I couldn't wait to get home. I know it sounds strange, but she really did change so much over the four days we were gone. Her hair got thicker and I swear, she really did get bigger. Now, I spend every waking minute trying to make her smile.
This picture is for Aunt Michelle and Aunt Julie!

The Sheltons finally made it down to the lake this weekend and they brought their baby Reagan. We have been patiently waiting meeting her and she was definitely worth the wait! She is so sweet, as you can see from the picture below. Her cheeks are just the cutest. Here are their game day pictures from Saturday's win over Wyoming. Unfortunately, Alexis was having a rough evening, so this is the best I could do, but she still looks cute! 300 Justice Road 2030 better watch out, these girls are going to be TONS of trouble.

I mean, could she be any sweeter?

Look at how big she is getting!! Her neck and back are slowly getting stronger and she is able to tolerate sitting up, just a little bit. I thought this was super funny. I put the wash rag on her and she grabbed it! It's almost like she wants to wash herself. Hopefully by next month she will be holding up her head all on her own.

Our dogs LOVE Alexis. If she is on the floor, they are right by her. Belle is getting really old, so I wanted to get some pictures of them together. Daddy had to make her ride the horsey.

Below, Ranger just has to be right by Mommy, which means he has to get as close to Alexis as possible. So, why not prop her up on him??

Now, on to the smiles! Her first month of smiling really makes me happy. When we were taking these pictures Grandma and I had to take a break because we were smiling so hard, as if that would help Alexis, that our jaws were hurting!

She likes to kiss her horse rattle and is starting to like peek a boo.

She isn't a fan of tummy time, but she is working her neck! We are getting there, maybe just a little slow, but that is OK!

This is the beautiful sunset on Labor Day from mom's back yard!

New Friends and New Things

Alexis has had a busy week meeting new friends and trying different things! She has also been an amazing sleeper! I know I shouldn't say anything, but after the rough week we had last week, its good to know that she can still go down for naps and bed time without being rocked! She has, however, found her fussy time. That is between 5 and 6 pm. It's hard to believe she is just tired, considering I am having to wake her up from her naps, but maybe she is just growing and she is just ready to go back to bed!!

This week she met her new friends Marlee and Erin. We went and visited my friend Erin who is going through the same thing that I went through with Alexis. She is 34 weeks along and now on bed rest. She is doing better at home and we are praying that Margo cooks for a little longer. Alexis has also been sporting her Bentley's Bows gear! I just love all her new bows. She spent the night with Grandma and Grandpa Mannion last Friday and they just loved having her, I actually thought I wasn't going to get her back!! Last but not least, she got in the pool. We put our tent over the spa to block the sun, which made it pretty cold, so it didn't last long, but until she got cold, she seemed to enjoy it.

This morning I had to pull out her 3 month onsies!! She has outgrown her newborn onsies and it kind of made me sad. I know I couldn't wait till she got in her dresses, but putting away those little onsies made me realize my little baby is no longer little!! She maybe well over 10 pounds!!

Brian and I are heading to Austin for a long weekend away from Alexis while she goes to Mimi and Pappa B's house. Mom and Dad are super excited about having her and I've already typed out 2 pages of notes! This is the longest we have been away from her and I know I will be sad, but I am looking forward to a little vacay! Even though I haven't packed her or myself!

She is finally able to fit into her cute dresses!! She just looked so adorable yesterday when we met Aunt Tracy for lunch and went to see Erin. Unfortunately, lunch lasted an hour longer than we expected because a huge rain storm came in and we were stuck without an umbrella. Just when we thought it was safe to leave, the Heaven's opened up and Mommy got drenched!

Doing what she does best!

The first day she got her bows!

This is how I found her this afternoon, with her cute little butt in the air! Mind you, I had to turn the lights on and take her blanket off and she is STILL asleep and not moving!

Grandma Mannion brought over this singing, light flashing, attention grabber, and boy does it do the trick! Most times she really likes it! She also loves the fan! At night, I've been turning on the stars on the ceiling, and she loves those too!! Anything to keep this baby happy!!

Another outfit I got to break out this week!

The first time in the pool! She's real thrilled, can you tell??

Alexis and Daddy getting ready for the Texans to beat the Cowboys!

I just love this picture! Marlee Saldana is 5 weeks old and Alexis is 3 months and 1 week old. She looks so big! It looks like she is trying to do what Marlee is doing!
