Boos and Birthdays

We started a new tradition tonight! Trick or Treating with the Sorensens!! I didn’t think I was ever going to get there, though! We had a faculty meeting after school today! My principal is super cool, so I totally wasn’t expecting to stay as late as I did! But, no worries, I made it there and we had a BLAST! We trekked the neighborhood with 7 kids, 3 dogs, 10 parents and a bunch of other neighbors tagging along!

After lots of fun on the streets, we headed back to the house for some birthday cake and one last group picture. Halloween is one of the things that I miss the most about living in a neighborhood, but not enough to make me move back! That’s why we have the Sorensens! We will be doing this again next year, for sure. All the kids had a great time and they were all very well behaved. Carter and Alexis shared a wagon, and as usual, Carter was as content as he could be. A on the other hand, had to be moving or she wanted to get out! Surprisingly, Alexis knew just what to do when she got out of the wagon. She took her bucket and walked right up to the door! I didn't even have to give her any directions. She really is one observant little girl!

Overall, it was a good time had by all! Willie and Alexis were worn out and fell asleep as soon as we got home. Although, I think Alexis might have been a little drunk on chocolate. She was chit chatting and giggling all the way home! She managed to open a Kit Kat and eat half of it before I caught her! That’s what I get for not paying attention. I hope everyone had as great of a time as we did. Thanks again, Mel, for hosting your 32nd birthday!! I hope it was a great one!

Busy Busy October

We are still here, just been busy pretty much all of October. I'm looking forward to November for some downtime with the family. And hopefully my dad will get to come home soon and start to feeling better than he has in the last two years. Here's what we've been up to. Hopefully you will here from me again before Christmas!

Lake Time

Fall at the Lake

This weekend we went back to the lake. I haven't been there since July and I thought that I knew what the lake would look like, but I guess there is just no way to prepare yourself for what you see. There was no boating or fishing, so we went out to Uncle Larry's house to take some pics and play outside and we hung out at Grandma and Grandpa's new house. This was also my first time to get to see the house complete and furnished! It is really nice! We didn't do much this weekend and it was great! We only ran into town ONCE!! I'm not sure that has EVER happened before!

On Friday and Sunday we stopped to see Pappa B at rehab. I really hate leaving my dad there by himself. I know that this is where he needs to be to recover faster, but I can't stand that he has to sit at this place for 24 hours a day just for three hours of rehab a day. So continued prayers for my dad's speedy recovery is greatly appreciated.

Also, my Uncle Kenny's mom died this weekend. She had been suffering for a while with cancer, so we are glad she isn't hurtting anymore and in a better place. But, as you can imagine, it is very tough for him and my cousins. They could use some prayers for some peace right now. We love you guys and we missed you this weekend, but we are praying for ya'll.

A had a great time playing in the dirt! She LOVES the Ranger and as soon as she saw it, she didn't want to get down. I think I've got a tom boy on my hands over here!
My sweet Laureli! She is so precious! She actually grabs you in an embrace and kisses you! I don't think you can get any sweeter!

Cousins!! We missed Rachel and Kynlee! We will see you Thanksgiving!

L and A's first Halloween together. Laureli is a witch but she wasn't digging the hat.

Two girls and their tutus!!

Sweet babies!!

Grandma and Alexis. Just not giving out the smiles.

As you can see there is no water! This is the view from our dock looking at my parents. This should all be water.

Looking out to the Mannion's.

The stumps that we have to go around when we take the boats out.

Another view from our dock.

Oh Destin, How I've Missed You!!

Mommy finally got to go to the beach! I’ve been dreaming of blue water and white sand for about two years now!! It’s just as gorgeous as I remember! Aunt Tracy and I flew into Panama City Thursday night and rented an Atomic Bomb Orange convertible Camaro. I’m not kidding about the name and somehow we didn’t get a picture of it! This was a great girl’s trip! The weather was so beautiful!! We even got a good workout in while we were there; bike riding and walking on the beach! Plus we had great food and drinks each night! Saturday night we went to dinner and watched some football. This resort was fabulous! If you have never been to Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, you must check it out! It has everything you need, including several bars and restaurants, shops and plenty of activities for the kids. Plus, the water was crystal clear! I couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing time! I can’t wait to go back! And yes, I’m counting the days!

My first night without Daddy!! 300 Justice Road

Baytown Wharf

It was actually pretty cold at night! Perfect weather for laying out during the day! I even fell asleep on the beach and didn't break a sweat!

This side of the resort is very fancy and is home to some pretty amazing yachts.

The start of a gorgeous sunset

Getting ready for our morning walk

Bike riding! We were both pretty nervous to ride again! I know you never forget how to ride a bike, but it is still pretty scary and shaky!

Our first night out

Friday afternoon! Enjoying a little happy hour after getting pampered and spray tanned! How I wish I could spend every HH staring at blue water!

Rush Wedding

Three weeks ago, Aunt Kenzie and Uncle Grant became Mr. and Mrs. Rush!! The rehearsal dinner was at Maggiano’s and the wedding was at Hotel ZaZa! Everything was beautiful and Aunt Kenzie made a gorgeous bride! We had a blast the whole weekend catching up with old friends. Alexis stayed with Aunt Lissa and Uncle Nathan and had a great time as well! Of course she had no problem away from home! Congratulations guys! Thanks for one of the best weekends we’ve had in a while!

The new Mr. and Mrs. Rush!! Aunt Kenzie's dress was beautiful!
The decorations were beyond amazing and this cake was fabulous! And it was super yummy!!
