It's 95% Official!!

On Tuesday, Brian and I went to a specialist, nothing major just to make sure everything was going perfectly and to make sure all my levels are where they should be. We weren't too sure what to expect and Brian almost went out of town for work since this wasn't a regular visit. When we walked into the room, I saw the biggest ultrasound machine and monitors all around that I had ever seen. I'm only 14.5 weeks along, so as the doctor was trying to get pictures, it looked to us that there wasn't anything in there. I know we don't know what we are looking at but it sure does make you nervous the more he keeps poking around! Finally he got pictures of the brain and measurements of the whole body. He says everything is perfectly fine and right on track! He then asked us if we wanted to know the sex??? YES!! Was that a rhetorical question? I'm ready to start shopping and decorating!! According to the doctor, he is 95% sure that we are expecting a baby girl!! I can hardly believe it and I'm so excited I can't stand it!! Brian is still not convinced!!! He thinks the doctor doesn't know what he is looking at, other than a scrambled egg!! I don't know how much more official we can get than this 3D ultrasound, but if you look closely, it looks like our baby girl has a pony tail!! Maybe it's fate?

This weekend the girls and I did a little window shopping. One baby store we walked in had the name Lexi in several different places. I think it is a sign that our baby is going to be a girl and I will finally get my Alexis Hope, the name I've dreamed of since I was a kid!! Yes, my baby girl's middle name is from Hope Brady on Days of our Lives. I think it is only fitting that since I was named after Deidre Hall from Days, that my daughter should follow in my footsteps. Who would have thought that this would have ever really happened!

I'm now in baby girl over drive and the planning has officially begun. I'm really scared to start shopping but, it's 95% official, so I'm ready to make the prettiest purple room you've ever seen. Our next appointment is Tuesday, till then, we are having a baby girl!!

LOL!! The same thing happened to us. I think my husband's comment was "I'll wait to see what the 'real' ultrasound shows" And it was still pink!! And I love "Days" and the name Alexis Hope. Belle was always one of my favs too.
